The name of the recipe – Seaweed Pie – makes heads turn. Everyone automatically thinks that it contains actual seaweed and that it tastes awful. The truth is that there is no seaweed whatsoever in this recipe and it is the most delicious tasting dessert. Plus it is easy to prepare and doesn’t take long to set.

Seaweed pie

  • Serves: 12
  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Total Time: 2 hours

Ingredients

  • 1 Angel Food Cake
  • 2 pkg. Pistachio Pudding mix
  • 4 cups of milk
  • Whipped cream
  • 2 Crispy Crunch bars

Instructions

Crumble the Angel Food cake into small pieces. Spread the pieces in the bottom of a rectangular glass baking dish.

Mix the pistachio pudding with the milk with an electric mixer on high speed.

Pour the pudding mixture over the Angel Food cake pieces.

Put this in the refrigerator to set for about 30 minutes.

Cover the pudding with Whipped Cream.

The Annie Chun’s Roasted Seaweed Snacks are only for the brave! The Annie Chun’s Roasted Seaweed Snacks I reviewed were flavored in hot Wasabi. I love Wasabi in dips, but this product was a different story as it made me turn green!

I’ve read recently about the health benefits of eating seaweed. I never minded having powdered green algae in smoothies, but eating roasted seaweed as a snack was something new for me.

Although other people might enjoy the wafers or sheets of green seaweed, I was completely repulsed. I almost vomited after eating my first bite.

Even the hot wasabi flavor could not mask the nauseating smell and flavor of seaweed that I can only compare to swimming in the ocean and having the tide splash seaweed into your mouth so you had to choke and spit it out!

But if you are adventuresome and know you like seaweed, you might want to try the Wasabi flavor. I’m not used to Korean foods or seaweed so my review is purely from an American perspective.
